NFP: Margaret moved to Salisbury in 1941 to work at Five Points Diner. She lived with the owner and his wife and was rather like a daughter to them. Previously, Margaret had worked in a restaurant they operated on US 1 in Lee County. By 1941, truckers were using US 29 as a route from Charlotte north, and Five Points Diner was a popular stop for many who had previously frequented the Lee County diner. Some asked that the owner bring Margaret to his new establishment.
